Jewelry and accessories featuring upcycled industrial metals
Randi Tannenbaum works in her Highland, MD studio to disassemble industrial metals - by cutting, bending, folding, stretching and compressing - then reorganizes and reassembles the pieces into belt buckles and other jewelry and accessories. License plates, a common material in her work, create visual complexities when reworked. The pieces are more like urban grafitti - suggesting a private meaning while radiating an unmistakable movement and energy.
