Environmentally Conscious Knitting
I am a self-taught fiber artist who has been creating in some form or another for as long as I can remember. When I am not teaching art to DC students, you will probably find me with a pair of knitting needles in my hands and a ball of yarn in my lap. :)
I strive to live my life in a simple, peaceful, and environmentally conscious way, and my craft reflects that way of life.
As I've grown more conscious of the materials I use, I find myself choosing more and more natural fibers, many of which are also organic, recycled, humane, and sustainable. Whenever possible, I purchase from local shops and artisans, and I absolutely love to work with handspun yarn.
I take great pride in creating quality handknit items from natural materials. My craft gives me a way to contribute to a more responsible consumer society, and a more sustainable world.
All of my work is done in my smoke-free, pet-free home with lots of care and love!
