What we are

cosa verde is a web-based market where independent artisans and craftspeople from around the world showcase their environmentally-friendly wares and connect directly with environmentally-conscious consumers.

Visitors to the site are able to buy handcrafted goods directly from the artists, shortening the supply-chain and helping small businesses thrive and emerging artists gain exposure. Shoppers may browse the goods listed on cosa verde by product categories or by ideology—browsing or narrowing searches by criteria such as "cruelty-free," "organic" or "recycled."

Who We Are

cosa verde is the labor of love of Liz Grotyohann (27) and Jeff Fein-Worton (27). A graphic designer by trade, Liz is also an artist working in found objects and recycled materials. After noticing a lack of venues dedicated to craftspeople working specifically in environmentally-friendly media, and finding her work lost on larger sites specializing in the online sale of handmade crafts, Liz joined forces with her husband Jeff, web-developer extraordinaire, to create cosa verde. what people are saying about cosa verde

"[cosa verde is] a great new spin on the marketplace model creating a resource for handmakers to gain valuable exposure for their work while connecting them with eco-conscious consumers...My favorite part of the site has to be their special search function—you can browse goods by categories like "organic," "recyclable," "cruelty-free" and more."
—Modish

"cosa verde... [is] a carefully curated portal to shops offering handmade products that are also crafted with sustainability in mind....cosa verde is just a month old, but they’ve already got plenty to look at, and all of it is just awesome. It’s a really fun and easy way to find loads of handmade goods that are also good for the earth."
—Miss Malaprop

"If you've been struggling to search through Etsy to find eco-friendly vendors, this is your new favorite resource! Browsing categories include organic, reusable, repurposed, recycable, conflict-free, cruelty-free, and green sources."
