weekly wrap-up + earth hour

Lovely cruely-free Merino wool knit sheep from mamma4earth

Have a great weekend and get yourself outside! Today is the third annual Earth Hour. Earth Hour is a worldwide event that encourages individuals to unite in the fight against global warming by turning off their lights and spending sixty minutes outside with friends and family. So at 8:30pm, your local time, turn off the lights and spend some time looking up at the stars. (Of course, it's cloudy here, so I'll be looking up a the clouds instead. And maybe playing some frisbee.)

I'll leave you with some useful links from around the internet:

Green Upgrader has a great roundup of ways to mend your clothes rather than getting rid of them.

Loving these packaging designs for a line of flavored vinegars produced by The Garden Corps, a program where youths maintain gardens, operate farmers market stands and run a community supported agriculture program.

Bakery has a great roundup of tips and tutorials on how to photograph your handmade items for sale online.

weekly wrap-up

So, in continuing my plan of a slight directional shift in the blog, I introduce to you the new weekly wrap up. We'll take a look at a special weekend find, and some other great stuff happening around the blog world. (Jeff doesn't like it when I use the word blogosphere. Blogosphere. There, I used it.)

So, without further ado, this week's find: the lovely recycled record pendants of WreckordsByMonkey.

And a little link love from around the blogosphere:

Remember that it's March Mending Month over at the Craft Magazine blog. They're showcasing lots of really useful ways to bring new life to your worn out goods.

And you need to see these incredible upcycled cardboard sculptures by Chris Gilmour, showcased over at Green Upgrader. Really. They are...completely...amazing.
