Mail Call!

I love old things that are transformed into new things. That's what much of this movement is all about, right?
And I especially love when the new things reflect back on the old, and remind us of times gone by...like these mail-themed goods. These days, especially since we've gone paperless for bills and bank statements, it seems like the only mail we get are unsolicited ads. And we've gotten off most of those lists, so often the mailbox is just...empty. I want some charming letters delivered in charming canvas mail bags, please.
Shown here: men's cowl and skinny scarf reconstructed from vintage mail bags by MALAM; tote constructed from a vintage canvas Australian mail bag by Yaheesplace; mini letter books from MiniatureRhino; modern vintage mailbox made with an antique solid brass vintage post office box from studio1212furniture

Tuesday Palette: Let's Go Outside

OK. If last week I felt like going sketching in the woods, this week it's out to take pictures. The running theme is getting outside. But, with a huge snowstorm looming down on us East-coasters, I think the only outside I'll get today is a trip out for groceries. Sigh.

Tuesday Palette: What's Up, Buttercup?

I'm back! (Well, sort of... it's amazing how much hand-crafting a wedding takes out of you! I did too much, but that's OK, it was beautiful and perfect and I promise I will have photos for you soon.)
In the meantime, how about a sunny yellow palette for this last gasp of summer? These yellows remind me of that slanted afternoon sunlight that creeps in this time of year and let me know that fall is well on its way...
Clockwise from top left: Organic linen necklace from magdalinen; upcycled slip dress from CreoleCollection; hemp/organic cotton table runner from HomeSweet; naturally dyed handspun yarn from yarmee; upcycled vntage chair from hazelandhunter
