Materials Monday: Scrap Love

April Stash Bust

recycled scrap garland from SewnNatural

I'll get back to more typical Materials Monday posts next week, but there's one week (well, almost) left in April so I thought we'd push through the last of the stashbusting challenge with some scrappy inspiration. Jen of SewnNatural sent me these images of some of her recent work from scraps, which I think are just lovely. I especially love the garland above... made with scraps of felted sweaters that she gets from a fellow eco-artist, WinkyDinks. (How cool is that?)

recycled scrap dolls from SewnNatural

Jen also makes these cute scrappy gnome dolls from organic fabric scraps and vintage scraps that are too small to use for anything else. Waste not, want not!

After reading Jen's email, I was on the lookout for more scrappy love...

fabric scrap earringd from DoubledayDesigns

... and I completely fell in love with these fabric scrap earrings from DoubledayDesigns

scrappy quilt from bananasaurusrex

and I'm 100% smitten with this scrappy quilt from bananasaurusrex, made from cotton scraps with an organic cotton muslin back and binding to boot.

Recycled Scrap Owls from WoollyMammothDesign

And how cute are these little scrap owls from WoollyMammothDesign, handmade from fabric scraps and vintage linens and stuffed with scraps of fabric and thread. Love.

I too love scrap fabric. I love to sew and so naturally I have drawers and drawers of them. A lot of my april stash bash stuff was created from scrap fabrics too.

I must say that quilt is breathtaking! It reminds me of one I inherited from my husband's grandmother. So amazing!

Thanks for sharing!

the owls are super cute!! and i love the earrings!!

So cute!

I give all my scraps to my neighbour Anwen and she uses them to make some of the things in her shop:http://www.etsy.com/shop/humblehome. It is the most creative use of scraps I have ever seen.

I'm so happy that Jen can use the scraps I have. I always think I will find a use for them, but never seem to. She makes such lovely things and I'm so glad my scraps get a good home!
