Give it Forward this holiday

Give it Forward giveaway 2009
It's that time again! The mad shopping dash towards the holiday season. But we have a more sustainable holiday in mind here at cosa verde: and we're giving away over $1000 of eco-friendly handmade goods to ring in the holidays.

This is a different kind of holiday giveaway, though. We're giving it away; you're giving it forward.

It's been a tough year, and I think we all know someone who could use an extra surprise, a little extra pick-me-up this season. That's why, every day for the first ten days of December, we'll post three different gifts up for grabs on our blog. Here's the catch: you enter these giveaways not for yourself, but for someone you know who deserves that gift. Tell us who they are, your relation to them, and why they deserve a special surprise. We will randomly select winners from all eligible entries, and if you win, you'll provide us with that person's address and the gift will be shipped right to their door! Posts start December 1st at 8am EST. Be sure to check back here every day for new opportunities to win!

Winners will be notified by email and must be able to provide the recipient's shipping address. Sorry, but we can only ship to US addresses.

This is such a beautiful idea - to show people you don't know that they are not alone in their worries, and surprise them with a wonderful gift. Thank you so much for initiating this!

I would love for my friend Teresa to be the recipient of a surprise gift. She has had a very tough year: her husband (who has lost his job - again) has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, her teenage daughter with depression. Her other daughter is hanging in there as good as she can. Teresa is always there for everybody, never asking for help, but always giving it with a smile and an open heart. But this time, it is getting too much for her alone to handle. She is slowly being eaten up by all the responsibilities and worries, trying to keep everything together and her family functioning as smoothly as possible. She lives in the States and we moved to Europe 2 years ago, so I cannot give her the support I would be able to give if we still lived next door.
I believe Teresa would be elated to receive a surprise present, it might give her a well-deserved boost.
Thank you for consideration!
Susanne
