shop of the week: jewelweeds

I was trying to think of how to carry my little "wedding week" through to this week's featured shop, and kind of failed, other than that if we were registering for gifts (we're not, for various reasons) I would definitely want to add some of Jewelweeds's housewares to the registry. Jewelweeds crafts lovely linens, pouches and pillow covers from sustainable fibers like hemp, linen, organic cotton, and then block prints or embroiders them with natural designs.

I love the simplicity and elegance of her designs, and the contrast of the fresh colors of her prints against the fibers she uses, like the natural linen of the pillow above. Her pillows are filled with eco-friendly 100% PLA fiber, also known as Ingeo, similar to polyester, but made from corn not petroleum. Jewelweeds's shop is filled with lots of little delights, like embroidered sachets filled with farmers' market herbs.

From her shop profile:
Each [Jewelweeds] product is unique in its 'green-ness', some are made from remaindered and scrap fabrics, some with fibers are that beautiful and sustainable, (hemp, linen, organic cotton) and some include recycled vintage and antique materials. Jewelweeds are the perfect blend of style and sustainability.

I agree.
