import your items!

As I recently promised, I have just added a new feature to the site that will allow you to quickly and easily import your items from other commerce sites.  The process uses a bit of magic, and a whole bunch of RSS.

The new feature lets you import most of the text from your items at your commerce site into brand new items in your cosa verde store(s).  Once you add a feed (and you can add as many as you'd like, just by punching in your commerce site's URL,) we'll automatically update your importable items.  This way, you can add new items to your Etsy store (for example,) pop over to cosa verde, and import them with a couple of clicks.

At the moment, the sites that you can import items from are Etsy and Big Cartel, as these are the only sites (that I know of) that our sellers use and that offer RSS feeds.  If you know of others, please contact us, and I'll add support for it in two or three jiffies (yes, that's a real unit of measurement, no I am not that fast.)

The process isn't automatic, as there are some things we can't import automatically, like categories, badges and images (copyrights are nothing we want to mess with.)  But you wouldn't want it to be automatic anyway—this way you have full control over what and how items get added to your shop.  I tried to make the process intuitive, but intuitive to one person is arcane to another (which is why I will never understand clothing sizes, or why hotdog buns come in packs of 8, but hotdogs come in packs of 10.  Hmmm.)

Also, on an not-quite-completely-unrelated note, I have added new RSS feeds to the site—the most recently featured items, and the most recently featured stores.  Links are also on the homepage. Enjoy!
