shop of the week: simplijessi
I am in love with the work of simpli jessi. Her dolls and bears have such an obvious, amazing attention to detail, from their clothes and hair down to the stories that Jessi writes about each plush's life. Here's the story of Elona, above left:
Elona is a whiz at mathematics. When she was in the 2nd grade, she solved equations master mathematicians struggled with for years...so they gave her a medal. And they told her she could be a special agent. In her free time, Elona likes to ride her scooter to the local bakery. She loves warm bread!
All of her dolls and bears are stuffed with eco-stuffing. I love this guy here because he looks like my good friend Julien. I also love that the guy dolls have beards and mustaches. These are grown-up dolls, with personality.
I can't resist, I'm going to share a few more of their stories. The blue bear above, Lloyd, is so sweet:
Lloyd is a bear architect. Funny, you may say, but true. He loves anything to do with concrete...in fact, that's exactly what his bear loft is made of. Lloyd spends hours at his drafting table - where he sometimes climbs on and does a little bear dance.
And Suzette, the blonde above:
Suzette owns an art gallery in a little village. She loves meeting new artists. On Wednesday nights, Suzette has gallery openings with live music. Mostly husband and wife bands. Suzette loves to read and swim. One time she read an entire book in 20 minutes.
